About Rowan
For as long as I can remember the world of Faery has been a part of my life. I was always that girl with the overactive imagination, and I was blessed to have a wonderful family that supported my creativity and love of all things fantasy and mythical! As I grew older my source of inspiration grew even stronger and helped to mold and shape who I am today, though the greatest joy is continuing to grow and learn, to listen to my Muse and follow my own heart. My path has led me to many wonderful stops along the way, from being enlisted in the Air Force for four years, living in South Korea and Hawaii, continuing the wonderful path of creativity, and honoring my Reiki training. One of my greatest loves is Ireland, which is an enormous influence on my artwork. My husband and I travel there every year for a few weeks, it is our home away from home. I am always so inspired by the stories and myths associated with the old ways of the Ancient Celts. That inspiration is what keeps me painting their stories through my eyes and from my heart. I have truly only recently found this creative Muse, I have had no formal training in watercolor technique or drawing for that matter! I just try to continue practicing and developing my own style that makes my artwork my own.

I truly believe that creativity is a gift that we all share, a common ground, may we all find our own ways to honor and keep alive the world of Faery and Myth. This world is that much more beautiful when they are welcomed within each of us.

Deep Peace & Light on Your Journey,
Rowan Mullane

~What’s in a Name? Some of you may be wondering the meaning behind the name “Rowans Duir”-it is simply a blending of my favorite tree-the Rowan, and the Gaelic word for Doorway is Duir (pronounced Door). Duir is also the Ogham Tree Alphabet name for the great Oak Tree. It just fit well with my chosen path in life. Was the meaning as glamorous as you thought it would be? =)
